As many of you who follow this thread may know, we have been working on a .308 reticle for our 1-6 CRS. That reticle has been made and undergone testing for several months. I am very pleased with the performance of the new .308 reticle. It is very similar to the current M4-62 (.223) reticle, but I have made a few improvements to the reticle based on actual shooting sessions. The new reticle is a FFP BDC reticle calibrated to the M118 LR (175 gr) military sniper ammo fired out of a 16" barrel with a 1 in 10" twist. This scope/reticle is designed to give full spectrum capability to the battle carbine package (rifle-scope-ammo).
The new reticle performs like the current reticle at close range. The new reticle is calibrated to 1200 yds.
We have been able to establish effective range (more hits than misses) on human-sized targets to 1025 yds with this package, with multiple shooters using several different brands of battle carbines. We have been able to get repeated hits at 1200 yds on human-sized targets with this package, but we have not been able to establish effective range beyond 1025 yds.
Based on our testing, we are getting ready to place an order for a batch of 1-6 scopes with the new .308 reticle. The price for the 1-6 CRS with the .308 reticle will be $1125.00. Because we are considering the possibility of a 1-8 FFP scope for this new .308 reticle, our initial plan is to have a limited production run of the 1-6 CRS with the .308 reticle.
The number of 1-6 scopes with the .308 reticle to be produced will depend on the number of pre-orders we receive. Therefore, we will require a non-refundable deposit of $100.00 for each one of these scopes ordered. We would like to submit this order to our manufacturer within three weeks. If you are interested, please contact me ASAP!!!!!!!
